Following the severe impact of the DANA storm, Transport Minister Óscar Puente has confirmed that repairs to the high-speed rail line between Madrid and Valencia will require at least two to three weeks. Notably, the Chiva tunnel has suffered a total collapse across 1.2 kilometers, and 3 kilometers of the Torrent tunnel remain flooded, complicating immediate repairs.

Puente indicated that it could take months to restore full functionality in the region. Additional severe damage has been identified on commuter rail lines, particularly C-3, where 90 kilometers of track are affected, and approximately 45 kilometers are deemed beyond repair, requiring full replacement. Although lines C-5 and C-6 are in operable condition, their reopening depends on weather assessments. Moreover, significant disruptions extend to the road network, with 80 kilometers impacted and a collapsed viaduct on the A-7, expected to necessitate prolonged recovery efforts.

The Mediterranean Corridor is also affected, with services between Valencia and Barcelona currently not operating. Commuter rail lines C1 (Valencia-Gandia), C2 (Valencia-Moixent), C3 (Valencia-Utiel), C5 (Valencia-Caudiel), and C6 (Valencia-Castelló) are out of service. Some operations may resume depending on weather conditions and infrastructure assessments.

Long and medium-distance services on the Valencia-Alicante-Murcia route, as well as medium-distance services between Valencia and Albacete-Alcázar de San Juan and Valencia-Teruel, are suspended. Adif will keep the high-speed line between Valencia and Madrid closed throughout the day for safety reasons.

In coordination with Renfe, Adif has kept stations at Valencia Joaquín Sorolla, Cuenca Fernando Zóbel, Madrid Chamartín Clara Campoamor, and Madrid Atocha open overnight. This measure aims to assist passengers affected by cancellations who require shelter.
