Central to this initiative is the redevelopment of 553 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This project, which represents an investment of over €2.2 billion, aims to transform these stations into modern, passenger-friendly hubs. The redesigned stations will not only serve as key transit points but also act as city centers, integrating various modes of transport and providing enhanced amenities to travelers.
Additionally, the government official opened the redeveloped of Gomti Nagar Railway Station, showcasing the potential of modern infrastructure to improve the passenger experience significantly. The station features a range of facilities aimed at making travel more comfortable and convenient for the public.
Within this infrastructure upgrade, there is an establishment of 1,500 road over bridges and underpasses. This effort, costing approximately €2.5 billion, is designed to facilitate smoother and safer crossings over and under railway lines, significantly reducing the risk of accidents and improving connectivity across regions.
