The two logistics centres of the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) in Desio and San Stino, previously operated by the companies Rail Cargo Terminal - Desio S.r.l. and Rail Cargo Terminal - S. Stino S.r.l., have now been merged and operate under the new name Rail Cargo Logistics - Terminals Italy S.r.l..
Italy plays a crucial role as a transport hub for intercontinental and maritime connections, as well as for trade in the Mediterranean region. The two logistics centres in Desio (province of Monza Brianza) and San Stino di Livenza (province of Venice) form the core for freight transport throughout Italy. They provide integrated transport and warehousing logistics through to national distribution. The central location of the logistics hubs provides optimal connections to the main economic markets in Central, Southern and South-Eastern Europe.
