Canadian National Railway Company will provide rail transportation from Alberta’s Industrial Heartland to the Port of Prince Rupert under the Alberta Corridor Export (ACE) Rail Terminal project, now under construction near Fort Saskatchewan.

The ACE Rail Terminal is designed for unit train loading of propane and butane, creating a dedicated rail link between inland production and AltaGas’ West Coast export facilities. Initial capacity is planned at approximately 45,000 barrels per day.

The terminal will be built on Keyera-owned land and operate under long-term commercial arrangements with AltaGas and CN. Its rail loop configuration will accommodate full unit trains, limiting intermediate handling and enabling direct origin-to-port operations on CN’s network.

For CN, the project establishes additional westbound LPG volumes from the Fort Saskatchewan region to Prince Rupert, where export capacity for Canadian propane and butane is expanding. The commissioning timeline aligns with Keyera’s KFS Fractionation III project, which will increase liquids supply in the region.
