Turkish logistics operator Akdoğan Tren Kargo has placed an order for five Vectron MS multi‑system electric locomotives from Siemens Mobility. The contract includes a full 10‑year service agreement (with optional extension of two years) under the Railcover plan, plus Railigent X digital services.
The locomotives are intended for combined use: domestic freight operations in Türkiye and cross‑border service across Europe. Target countries include Germany, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia.
The Vectron MS is capable of operating under multiple electrification systems and is designed for speeds up to 200 km/h. The versions supplied will be equipped with ETCS Baseline 3 as well as the national train protection systems required in each country. The package also includes the XLoad module, which is intended to boost traction performance and increase hauling capacity.
The order is the first deployment of Vectron locomotives in Türkiye. The service agreement includes real‑time data analytics and AI‑based maintenance monitoring via Railigent X.
