Polish logistics operator Rohlig SUUS Logistics has opened a new branch in Almaty, Kazakhstan, recognizing the country's burgeoning potential as a key logistics hub between Europe and Asia, particularly China. The company aims to use the new facility to offer a range of services including air, road, and rail freight, as well as intermodal solutions and a focus on developing warehousing services.
Underlining the strategic importance of Kazakhstan, Andrzej Kozłowski, Member of the Board of Directors of Rohlig SUUS Logistics, said: “Our customers perceive it as an excellent logistics hub between Europe and China, as well as a starting point for further business expansion and distribution of goods to the local market and neighboring countries.”
The Almaty branch will provide comprehensive logistics support, leveraging road, rail, and intermodal freight connections. Utilizing the well-established aviation infrastructure, in particular Almaty Airport, the operator promises efficient air transport services between Kazakhstan and Europe, including Poland.
“Beyond the economic trend, the investment in Kazakhstan is undeniably influenced, among other factors, by the fact that we observe a series of investments in the development of modern infrastructure in this country, both in roads and railways,” Kozłowski highlighted the influence of infrastructure development, continuing: "This directly translates into enhancing our operational capabilities in the region, especially in the field of intermodal transport, which we emphasize in our development.”
