By acquiring Joppa Logistics, SUUS will almost double its market share in the Czech Republic and strengthen its position in Central and Eastern Europe. Following the acquisition of Expert, a Polish company specialising in last-mile deliveries and value-added services, this is the company's first foreign acquisition and the second in just a few months.
"Given the market turbulence and geopolitical situation, the resilience of our customers' supply chains is one of our top priorities," says Tadeusz Chmielewski, President of Rohlig SUUS Logistics. "We understand this perfectly and are able to offer diversified services and global coverage. Our goal for the coming years is to develop our foreign operations, including through acquisitions of small and medium-sized companies that want to join the global network," he adds.
The entire transaction is expected to be completed in the coming weeks of this year, with the contract signed on 6 June.
"For years we have specialised in freight forwarding, 4PL, consulting and supply chain management. Joppa will allow us to increase the scale of our operations and strengthen our position in international groupage, contract logistics and domestic distribution in the Czech Republic," said Jiri Chladek, managing director of Rohlig SUUS Logistics in the Czech Republic.
Rohlig SUUS Logistics has been offering air, sea and road freight forwarding services in the Czech Republic since 2018. In autumn, the company opened its first warehouse in Brno. Joppa Logistics is a private Czech company with branches in Prague, Brno, Zlín, Olomouc and Ostrava. The merger with Joppa Logistics is in line with one of SUUS' strategic objectives to strengthen its position in Central and Eastern Europe.
