Innofreight and the world's largest shipping company MSC have started their first cooperation.

The first block train of 2×40 ft InnoWaggons with empty MSC sea freight containers arrived at the Montan Terminal Kapfenberg in Austria in March this year.

This started a transport loop for Austrian refractories company RHI Magnesita, delivering finished products to the Italian port of Trieste and raw materials back to Kapfenberg. In future, this transport loop will run three times a week between Kapfenberg and Trieste.

The new rail link was officially opened in mid-April. The ceremony took place at the Kapfenberg mine terminal. Constantin Beelitz, President Europe, CIS & Turkey, Daniel Prutti, Head of Global Logistics, René Hirzberger, Head of Regional Indirect Procurement (all RHI Magnesita), together with Nicola Lelli, Managing Director of MSC/MEDLOG Austria, Christian Glauninger, Managing Director of Montan and Peter Wanek-Pusset from Innofreight, officially opened the line. Patrizia Langer, Managing Director Austria, and Johann Pötsch, Owner and Managing Director of ecco-rail, were also present at the launch of this project.
