A new chapter for Deutsche Bahn has begun, with CEO Evelyn Palla at the helm. She has revamped the company's communication and marketing leadership to align with her ambitious reform agenda.

One of her first major initiatives is the appointment of Jens-Oliver Voß as the new Head of Communication and Marketing, effective immediately.

"The restart of Deutsche Bahn is also a communication task," said Palla. "Communication is crucial for building customer trust and pride in being part of DB."

A seasoned communications professional, Voß has been with Deutsche Bahn since 2005, holding multiple senior roles in journalism and corporate communications.

Palla also thanked Nicole Mommsen, who is leaving DB by mutual agreement after two years. Mommsen modernised the department, introducing a more strategic approach to communication and leading major campaigns such as the renovation of the Riedbahn line and the 'Switch' sales initiative.

"I have come to know Nicole Mommsen as a highly professional communicator who realigned the department with determination and delivered measurable results," said Palla. "We wish her all the best in her future career."

The new structure underlines that Deutsche Bahn's communication overhaul is part of a wider modernisation strategy driven by Palla.

"As CEO, Evelyn Palla has set out clear goals: less bureaucracy, faster decision-making, and a stronger customer focus," said Voß. "These priorities will guide our daily work in communication and marketing," he added.
