ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) and Pallet Control Tower (PCT) have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at optimising pallet management on a global scale.

A key element of the partnership is the reintroduction of an efficient exchange system for EUR pallets and RTIs. This system is based on PCT’s eCredits, which facilitate virtual exchanges across Europe and worldwide.

The partnership between RCG and PCT also paves the way for the buying and selling of pallets and RTIs in regions such as the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and the Asia-Pacific region. The digital trading platform PCT-Online helps identify and suggest suitable offers.

In addition, there are impending regulatory changes in the pallet business, including the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). These changes could strengthen the EUR pallet system as a global standard.
