PKP CARGOTABOR buys Alstom's plant in Poland

PKP CARGOTABOR, a company of the PKP CARGO Group, has concluded a contract for the purchase of assets of the liquidated branch of Alstom Pojazdy Szynowe Sp. z o.o.


The contract is worth PLN 13.5 million, according to Sektor Kolejowy. 

The agreement provides for the purchase by PKP CARGOTABOR of the assets (tangible and intangible) of the liquidated Alstom branch in Łódź. The plant produces parts, components, and assemblies of electrical equipment used in Polish electric and diesel locomotives.

Maintaining the existing production at this plant is in the interest of the PKP CARGO Group as it ensures the availability of repair packages for electrical equipment for a number of locomotives used by PKP CARGO Group companies. In this way, the Group will ensure the availability of components necessary for the maintenance of locomotives. The agreement signed by PKP CARGOTABOR is also important for Poland in terms of keeping Polish industry in national hands and preserving jobs.
