As a part of this MoU, Alstom also establishes its regional headquarters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The MoU aims to explore the future of sustainable transport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and identify investment opportunities in the public transport sector related to railway infrastructure, sustainable transport technologies, and reducing carbon emissions, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
Vision 2030 is a strategic platform that aims to reduce Saudi Arabia's dependence on oil, diversify its economy and develop public service sectors, e.g. health, education, infrastructure, and tourism. The main goals include strengthening economic and investment activities.
