One of the oldest businesses of FORWARDIS is the transport of hazardous products (especially yellow phosphor) in tank containers from Kazakhstan to Europe and the USA (via Rotterdam).

Considering the international context, the regular route from Kazakhstan to Germany - through Russia and Byelorussia had to be reviewed.

The containers left from Kazakhstan and had 4 ports of transit (going via Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Romania) before ending their journey successfully in Duisburg, Germany.

The itinerary required some adjustments, but according to the company it was a great success in the end:

"Congratulations to the team in charge of the project: Ralf Ott and Ivetta Gerauer for this historical trajectory, a first in Europe for RID cargo via the Caspian Sea," published FORWARDIS on its LinkedIn profile.

So FORWARDIS has become the first rail freight forwarder to carry out the transport of hazardous products via the Caspian Sea route and the Black Sea.
