Chemet, a prominent Polish manufacturer of railway tank cars, recently hosted the annual "Ladies on Tracks" meeting, bringing together women from across Europe involved in the logistics of dangerous goods. This event is a third meeting of the group, this time in Tarnowskie Góry, Silesia in September 2022.
Attendees were given a comprehensive tour of Chemet's production facilities, which is known as the largest factory in Europe for LPG rail tank cars and gas storage equipment. The event emphasized the role and contributions of women in the rail logistics sector.
Forwardis, committed to supporting women in rail logistics, orchestrates these annual study tours. The initiative aims to highlight notable European sites dedicated to railway logistics and to support the professional growth of women in the industry. Previous meetings have been held in various locations, including Marseille in 2029 and Germany in 2017.
Aleksandra Röhricht, Managing Director at Forwardis GmbH, leads this initiative. Under her guidance, the "Ladies on Tracks" meetings have grown into a significant event for women in the rail logistics sector, offering valuable networking opportunities and industry insights.
The gathering at Chemet provided a platform for participants to exchange knowledge and experiences, reinforcing the network of women professionals in rail logistics. As the industry evolves, such meetings play a crucial role in shaping its future direction, driven by diverse perspectives and collaborative efforts.
The next "Ladies on Tracks" meeting is anticipated with interest, continuing the mission to strengthen the presence and influence of women in the railway logistics industry.
