Martell Beck is currently Head of Marketing, Corporate Strategy and Transport Policy at DB Cargo. With campaigns such as "Freight belongs on the rails" and "Others are good. We are freight.", Beck has prominently positioned climate-friendly freight transport, particularly in social media.

"With Martell Beck and Jürgen Kornmann, we are gaining two proven marketing and communications experts for key functions in railway communications," said Nicole Mommsen, Head of Communications and Marketing at DB. "As part of the future management team, the two top managers will continue to drive forward the strategic, offensive and digitalised communications and marketing approach."

Martell Beck was Head of Marketing, Sales and Digitalisation at Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) from 2012 to 2020. There, he developed the "Because we love you" campaign and initiated a fundamental reorientation of BVG's communication with a digital focus.

For his work, he was named "Man of the Year Marketing" by the trade magazine HORIZONT in 2021 and "Client of the Year" by the Art Directors Club (ADC) in 2018.

Jürgen Kornmann

Jürgen Kornmann has introduced new technologies for data-based analysis, performance measurement and reporting and transferred them to a central ecosystem as Head of Marketing since 2019. To further integrate marketing and communications, he will roll out the applications across the division. He will also be responsible for the development and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to automate communication and marketing processes.

Jürgen Kornmann will also continue to manage the successfully launched European Championship campaign as Group Representative for UEFA EURO 2024.

Kornmann, who studied journalism, joined Deutsche Bahn in 2008 after working as a spokesman for the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and the German Insurance Association (GDV), as well as leading communications departments at Bombardier and Volkswagen. There, he was responsible for communications for passenger transport before taking over as head of group marketing in 2019.
