Locomotives will support new domestic services, including recently launched flows on the Lille–Miramas and Bonneuil–Miramas axis.

Akiem has supplied three additional Prima BB27000 locomotives to French freight operator Combirail, part of the Open Modal Group, expanding the operator’s leased fleet to 12 locomotives.

The handover of locomotive BB27164 took place on 9 March at Akiem’s Ostricourt workshop following a full overhaul under the lessor’s MLO programme. The locomotive carries a dedicated Combirail livery developed jointly by Akiem and the operator.

Combirail has introduced new services on the Mediterranean corridor, operating traction and end-to-end rail services under its own control. The additional locomotives are assigned to domestic freight operations across the French network.

The livery of BB27164 pays tribute to Jean-Claude Brunier, founder of the Open Modal Group, who died in 2025. Brunier played a central role in the development of the group’s rail freight activities.
