CityRail has taken delivery of a second TRAXX electric locomotive from RAILPOOL, expanding its leased fleet ahead of higher freight volumes expected in 2026.
The additional locomotive is supplied under RAILPOOL’s full-service leasing model, which covers maintenance and availability management. CityRail has been a RAILPOOL customer for several years, using leased locomotives for domestic freight operations.
The TRAXX platform is widely used in Central Europe for heavy and medium-duty freight services, including bulk and forestry-related traffic. For CityRail, the added locomotive increases fleet capacity and operational flexibility as transport demand grows.
