Alstom reports over 250 locomotives ordered from the platform by more than 10 operators and leasing companies.

Alstom has completed the 200th TRAXX Universal locomotive at its Vado Ligure production site in Italy. The locomotive was delivered to Mercitalia Rail, a logistics company within the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane (FS) Group, which initiated the original order of 40 locomotives in 2017.

The TRAXX Universal platform, a four-axle electric locomotive series, is produced at the Vado Ligure plant, which has been active for over a century. The platform includes models equipped with Alstom’s “Last Mile” feature, allowing operations on non-electrified tracks such as those found in terminals and industrial zones. So far, 115 locomotives have been delivered with this optional feature.
