The unit, numbered 078, was recently delivered to Akiem by Newag and has already entered service in Grupa Azoty KOLTAR livery after leaving the manufacturer's facility in Nowy Sącz.
The locomotive is equipped with a last-mile module and is authorised for operation in Poland. It will be used for long-distance freight operations connecting ports in northern Poland with industrial hubs in the country’s south and east. This is the second Dragon 2 unit in KOLTAR’s fleet, following the purchase of a single locomotive in 2024.
Maintenance during the lease period will be handled by Newag under an eight-year full-service agreement previously signed with Akiem.
