On 6 June 2025, Alstom and Akiem finalized two service contracts related to maintenance and spare parts for Traxx locomotives within Akiem’s operational fleet.

Two newly signed contracts extend the existing partnership between Alstom and Akiem into further detailed areas of locomotive maintenance, addressing fleet reliability and availability, as well as safety requirements:

Master Service Agreement for Spare Parts

The first agreement, defined as a Master Service Agreement, addresses the supply of spare parts for 116 Traxx locomotives owned by Akiem. The contract duration is five years, initially involving around 200 distinct spare parts annually. The assortment and quantities of spare parts will be periodically assessed and adjusted jointly by both companies.

On-Board Signalling Equipment for Locomotives

The second agreement specifies services and supply arrangements for on-board signalling equipment produced by Alstom, presently installed on the Traxx fleet managed by Akiem. This agreement covers various forms of support, including remote assistance, on-site maintenance, repair services for defective components, and provision of temporary replacements for key signalling components.
