The biggest rolling stock leasing company in Central and Eastern Europe expands its fleet by deliveries from domestic Polish manufacturers.

CARGOUNIT is preparing to receive ten Newag Dragon locomotives equipped with 500 kW Stage V last-mile diesel modules. The delivery is set to begin shortly and follows a 2023 call-off under a framework agreement with NEWAG for up to 30 DC or multi-system locomotives.

The locomotives combine mainline electric traction with diesel capability for non-electrified sidings and terminal access. The units have completed testing ahead of their deployment with two unnamed clients.

At the same time, CARGOUNIT continues to expand its Gama fleet from PESA Bydgoszcz. The previously announced order for 40 electric locomotives is being supplemented with additional units featuring a 480-kW last-mile diesel module. Locomotives 111Ed-112 through 111Ed-114 have been produced, with some already operating under agreement with ORLEN Kolej.
