DB Cargo Czechia has announced the completion phase of a new diesel locomotive investment. The operator is adding an EffiShunter 1000 from CZ LOKO to its fleet, aimed at improving traction options for single wagonload operations, particularly on corridors equipped exclusively with the European Train Control System (ETCS).
The EffiShunter 1000 will be assigned to duties in the Pardubice and Hradec Králové areas. Its primary task will be first- and last-mile service for single wagonload shipments, targeting industrial clients in the region. The locomotive will serve as a traction option where smaller shunting units are insufficient or incompatible with ETCS-only lines.
