Alstom has signed a contract with CLIP Intermodal for the delivery of five Traxx Universal multi-system locomotives. These locomotives will be homologated for operation in Poland, Germany, Austria, Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary.
The rolling stock will be manufactured at Alstom’s facility in Kassel, Germany, while the car body shells will be produced in Wrocław, Poland. The new locomotives will be equipped with the Onvia Cab™ signalling system, designed to support both ETCS and legacy train control systems.
This latest contract builds on an earlier order placed in 2024 for 13 Traxx multi-system locomotives. The units from that agreement were homologated for operation in Poland, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, and France. The contracts also include two years of preventive maintenance services during the warranty period.
The Traxx Universal multi-system locomotives are designed for freight and passenger operations, with a modular platform available in AC, DC, and multi-system configurations. They are built for cross-border operations and are approved in 20 countries, with an annual fleet mileage exceeding 300 million kilometres.
