Locomotives will be provided in various power system variants for use in both passenger and freight service.

European Locomotive Leasing Group (ELL) and Siemens Mobility have signed a framework agreement for the supply of up to 200 additional Vectron locomotives. Sixty locomotives have been ordered initially and will be delivered successively from 2025. By 2027, ELL will have at least 301 Siemens Vectron locomotives in service, making it the largest Vectron fleet in Europe. In the medium term, the new agreement offers ELL the possibility of increasing its Vectron fleet to more than 400 locomotives.

In the framework agreement, ELL secures the procurement of a wide range of multi-system locomotives, including the Vectron Dual Mode. It was also agreed that Siemens Mobility would actively support ELL in further strengthening its competence in vehicle operation, maintenance and repair.

Since the first delivery in 2012, more than 2,200 locomotives from the Vectron family have been sold to 95 customers and the fleet has clocked up more than 850 million kilometres. The locomotives are currently approved for operation in 20 European countries.
