The framework contract between the Lithuanian operator and Stadler was signed on 21.06.2023 and entails purchasing up to 54 battery-electric and electric multiple units. In the first call-off, 15 FLIRT trains will be delivered:
9 intercity five-car electric units will be 93 m long, accommodate 200 passengers (16 of which are in the 1st class), 14-30 bicycles and they will have a bistro on board.

These will replace the current fleet of diesel trains in operation with an emission-free alternative.
The contract includes a decade-long technical support and spare parts provision, starting with delivering the last vehicle.
Optional vehicles include:
- 13x Intercity EMUs
-
15x 100km range BEMUs
- 11x 70km range BEMUs
As Linas Baužys, the Head of the passenger transport company LTG Link said, „Battery-powered trains adapted to harsh climate conditions and broad gauge railways will be produced for the first time in Europe.“
