The 2026 timetable, effective from 14 December 2025, will see České dráhy (ČD) extend international connections and deploy more modern rolling stock.
By mid-2026, ČD expects to have all 20 ComfortJet non-powered trainsets (180 coaches) in service. The release of these units will allow more air-conditioned coaches to be assigned to other lines, with additional restaurant and bistro cars introduced on selected EuroCity, InterCity and Baltic Express services.
International expansions
From May 2026, services on the Berlin–Hamburg line will resume full operations after track works, with all Prague–Berlin trains extended to Hamburg. Two additional evening services will be introduced in each direction, and journey times from Prague to Berlin will be reduced to around 4 hours, and to Hamburg to approximately 6 hours. ComfortJet units will operate at up to 230 km/h between Berlin and Hamburg.
The Baltic Express to Gdynia will gain a fifth coach with a bistro section and second-class seating.
A new EuroCity pair will connect Vienna, Břeclav, Přerov, Ostrava and Kraków, and direct services from Vienna via Ostrava to Wrocław will run twice daily. A new daily link to Poznań will be introduced. Night trains will also expand, including a new EuroNight Carpatia from Bohumín to Przemyśl, and a shortened route for the EuroNight Chopin from Bohumín to Warsaw.
In Austria, the Prague–Vienna–Graz–Klagenfurt–Villach route will be extended in line with the opening of the Koralmbahn high-speed line. Three daily Vindobona pairs will run at up to 230 km/h, including through the 33-km Koralm Tunnel.
To Slovakia, selected Metropolitan and Hungaria services will be operated as Railjets. The SC Pendolino Košičan will return to its full Prague–Košice route after refurbishment and ETCS installation. Planned engineering works between Vsetín and Púchov/Žilina will require replacement buses for Valašský expres services from February 2026.
On the Ex3 and Ex5 corridors between Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic and Germany, one additional direct train pair will be added, with all services routed via Praha-Holešovice instead of Praha hl.n.
