HŽ Infrastruktura has signed a contract with Austrian manufacturer Plasser & Theurer for the procurement of railway maintenance machinery. The agreement, concluded following a public procurement procedure, covers the delivery of nine specialised vehicles and is valued at EUR 49.4 million (excluding VAT).
The order includes:
- One track tamping machine
- One ballast cleaning machine
- Two combined tamping machines for track and turnouts
- Two ballast profiling machines
- Three side-dump wagons equipped with conveyor belts
The delivery period for all equipment is set at four years from the date of signing.
This acquisition is described by the infrastructure manager as the largest purchase of specialised track maintenance equipment to date. It comes during a period of widespread infrastructure works across the country. The newly ordered machines are intended to support ongoing renewal and maintenance projects across the network.
