The new contract begins in the upcoming winter season and is expected to provide continuity for snow removal operations across Sweden's railway network.

Railcare AB has signed a four-year contract with the Swedish Transport Administration for snow removal services. The agreement, valued at approximately EUR 5 million annually, includes an option for two additional years, bringing the total potential value to EUR 31 million.

Under the terms of the contract, Railcare will operate as a national resource for snow removal at designated locations across Sweden. The services will be carried out from mid-November to the end of March, utilizing six machine units, including snow melters and ploughs, supported by machine operators and locomotive drivers.

This contract introduces several updates compared to previous agreements. The operational period has been extended by two weeks, now concluding at the end of March. Additionally, all machines involved will utilize HVO100 fuel, and locomotives assigned to the contract will meet Stage V emission standards and be equipped with ETCS.

Railcare has collaborated with the Swedish Transport Administration on snow removal tasks for several years. The continuation of this cooperation highlights the ongoing demand for services ensuring railway accessibility during challenging winter conditions.
