ProTrain, a Swedish railway company focusing on staffing, training and locomotive driver school, is also a licensed operator in Sweden and Norway. Its rail freight carrier division recently received ten 2x40 InnoWagons from Innofreight, equipped with a Smart GigaWood stanchion system.
ProTrain plans to transport pulpwood and timber for its customers. With the Innofreight system, a single train can carry up to 30% more wood than conventional wagons. Their maximum payload is 142 tonnes per InnoWaggon. Logs from the length of 2.5 to 12 meters can be transported.
ProTrain is better known in rail freight operations as the provider of shunting services in Sweden’s biggest seaport, the Port of Gothenburg. It has been doing so since 2021, with the contract ending in 2025, yet with an option for an extension for four additional years.
