PSP Cargo Group Romania says simultaneous railway reconstruction projects are complicating schedules and route planning, increasing pressure on freight reliability.

Multiple infrastructure projects are currently taking place across Romania’s railway network, affecting route availability and the predictability of freight operations.

“We currently operate on infrastructure that is still undergoing major reconstruction, with multiple works taking place simultaneously,” said Kinga Mădărășan, General Director of PSP Cargo Group Romania.

According to Mădărășan, operators must coordinate closely with infrastructure managers and logistics partners to limit delays. Reliability remains particularly important for industrial customers, where late deliveries can affect production and inventory planning.

“Freight must reach its destination within the promised timeframe,” she said.

PSP Cargo Group, part of Waberer’s Group, also coordinates rail operations with the group’s road transport activities to support end-to-end delivery planning.

The company monitors performance through operational indicators covering punctuality, resource use and service quality. It also conducts post-operational reviews after major transport projects to assess whether planning assumptions were met and where processes need to be adjusted.
