Hector Rail wins a new multi-year contract with Södra

The service covers rail transport of pulp and sawn timber between Södra’s facility in Värö and the port of Varberg in Sweden.

Hector Rail has been awarded a multi-year contract to operate Södra’s Väröpendel from 1 June 2026.

The assignment also includes contract shunting at both Värö and Varberg. No contract value or traffic volume was disclosed.

Väröpendel is part of Södra’s logistics chain for exports from Södra Cell Värö. The rail service links the production site with port handling in Varberg for onward shipment of forest industry products.

Hector Rail said the contract supports transport operations for the Swedish forest industry. Södra uses the Väröpendel for export flows where rail forms part of the terminal and port connection.
