Arrival at the Port of Hanko is scheduled for 24 October. Test runs in Finland are planned for November.

Fenniarail has confirmed that its second and third Siemens Vectron electric locomotives have passed the factory acceptance inspection at the Siemens facility in Munich. The inspection was conducted by Fenniarail’s planning director Hannu Lehikoinen and rolling stock manager Petri Rusila.

Following the approval, the locomotives are being transported across Germany from Bavaria to the Baltic Sea, where they will be shipped to Finland.

These units follow the first electric locomotive received by Fenniarail in 2023. The company currently operates a fleet of Dr18 diesel locomotives and has two more electric units on order, expected to be delivered in 2026.
