Pol-Miedź Trans continues to provide rail transport for KGHM’s mining operations beyond copper concentrate and ore.

Pol-Miedź Trans is responsible for daily shipments of more than 3,500 tons of stowing sand to the unloading point at the Rudna Mining Plant (Zakłady Górnicze Rudna).

The sand is loaded at the Obora Sand Pit (Piaskownia Obora), which is operated by KGHM’s Hydrotechnical Plant (Zakład Hydrotechniczny). The transport is carried out using two trainsets.

Each trainset is equipped with wagons designed specifically for the transport of stowing sand, with a single train capable of carrying up to 455 cubic meters of material per trip. The operation forms part of the routine logistical supply to support underground mining activities at Rudna.
