EP Logistics International (EPLI) has launched rail transport operations in Hungary under its newly established subsidiary, SI CARGO Hungária Kft.
Until 16 June 2025, EPLI's activities in Hungary were conducted under a B-type safety certificate held by EP Cargo, a Czech-based company. The formation of SI CARGO Hungária introduces a local railway undertaking directly registered in Hungary within the EPLI Group.
SI CARGO Hungária has started operations focusing on international freight, with agricultural cargo among its initial transported goods. The company also handles a wider range of freight, including industrial shipments.
The name SI CARGO reflects cooperation with Slovenian partners SŽ – Tovorni Promet and SŽ EP Logistika. These partnerships are part of EPLI’s broader network for rail services across the region. The model applied in Hungary may also be extended to other countries in Southeastern Europe.
SI CARGO Hungária is part of EPLI’s approach to operate through locally licensed entities across key markets in Europe, providing direct railway services under its own certification and organizational structure. The Hungarian company is expected to continue operations across European rail corridors, particularly focusing on connections between Hungary, Slovenia, and Italy.
