A new intermodal rail service between Rennes and Vénissieux is now operational. Be Modal began operating the route on Monday, 7 April 2025, expanding its rail freight coverage from western to southeastern France. It accommodates intermodal units ranging from 20 to 45 feet and is designed to provide uninterrupted transport without transloading. The operating timetable is adapted to upstream and downstream flow requirements, aligning with logistics planning cycles.
Timetable overview
- Rennes → Vénissieux: Departures at 16:20, arrivals at 09:00 from Tuesday to Friday and 09:30 on Saturday.
- Vénissieux → Rennes: Departures at 18:00, arrivals at 10:35 from Tuesday to Friday and 08:00 on Saturday or Monday.
This corridor adds to the company’s portfolio of services from Rennes, which already includes connections to Dourges and Blainville. The Rennes–Vénissieux service further increases the frequency of intermodal options available within the national network.
The route supports the transportation of mobile containers and aims to reduce long-distance road haulage volumes.
