The rail service is structured to meet specific supply chain requirements, providing a scheduled connection to the Gratkorn facility.

GYSEV CARGO has launched rail freight operations for the transport of wood chips and pulpwood from Hungary to Austria. Deliveries from the Papierholz Austria transshipment terminal in Ják-Balogunyom to the Sappi factory in Gratkorn will start in the first quarter of 2025.

The service involves the transfer of approximately 1,700 truckloads to rail, aligning with logistics adjustments in the forestry and paper industries. The first block train was loaded at the Balogunyom terminal, with representatives from GYSEV CARGO, Rail Cargo Group, and Papierholz Austria present during the process.

GYSEV CARGO is responsible for managing the transport, operating from the designated transshipment terminal to supply raw materials to the paper industry.
