The company will manage freight transport on the key 311 km route from Lithuania to Estonia, contributing to deeper integration into the logistics network of Northwest Europe.

LTG Cargo has announced the expansion of its services to Latvia and Estonia. The move is aimed at further integrating its operations into North West Europe and supporting the transport needs of ORLEN Lietuva, the operator of the only crude oil refinery in the Baltic States. LTG Cargo will handle the entire 311 km route from Bugeniai in Lithuania to Valga in Estonia, facilitating the transport of Lithuanian petroleum products.

This development follows LTG Cargo's successful bid in an international tender announced by the Public Company ORLEN Lietuva, signaling a significant expansion of the company's geographical footprint. Previously, LTG Cargo provided services for ORLEN Lietuva exclusively within Lithuania. "By ensuring the transportation of petroleum products to Estonia, we aim to meet our customer's needs and enhance our service efficiency," stated Eglė Šimė, CEO of LTG Cargo. The company has prepared for this expansion by certifying its locomotives for operation in Latvia and assembling a team of qualified specialists and locomotive drivers.

With the capacity to transport freight in train sets weighing up to 5,300 tonnes, LTG Cargo aims to significantly reduce the transport time of goods from Lithuania through Latvia to Estonia, with average delivery times of less than one day. In the future, LTG Cargo plans to develop a 1,200 km rail freight corridor from Finland to Central Europe, further increasing the efficiency and reach of Baltic freight logistics.
