Kombiverkehr KG has appointed Dirk Steffes as Managing Director effective 1 June 2026 at its Frankfurt am Main headquarters.
Riedl will step down from the management board at the end of June 2026 after more than 30 years in leadership at the European intermodal operator. He will remain with the company in an advisory role until mid-2027.
In his new position, Steffes will be responsible for sales, corporate communications and human resources. His appointment comes as Kombiverkehr continues to focus on its intermodal rail freight operations across Europe.
Steffes brings experience from senior roles in logistics and rail, including positions at Mars Inc., TX Logistik, Mitsui Rail Capital Europe and DB Cargo. His background covers operations, asset management and commercial strategy in the rail freight sector.
He has also served on supervisory boards of rail infrastructure companies and advised Swiss Life Asset Managers on rail-related infrastructure investments. Steffes holds a degree in business administration, having studied in Germany and the United States.
