DB will focus more on its core business in the coming years as part of its overall programme to modernise its infrastructure, railway operations and profitability.

Deutsche Bahn is completely discontinuing the everyworks co-working service as of 31 December 2024. With everyworks, DB offered chargeable mobile workstations and meeting rooms in the station environment.

However demand for additional mobile workstations and meeting rooms at the station fell short of expectations. The main reason for this is the change in working practices since the coronavirus pandemic began. Mobile workstations in Berlin Central Station, Hanover Central Station and Mannheim Central Station, as well as locations in the station environment in Düsseldorf, Erfurt, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich East and Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe, are affected.

With "S3" project, DB has launched an overall programme for the structural reorganisation of the group within the next three years. This also means divesting uneconomical businesses. By the end of 2027, DB will reorganise the group in three areas of action – infrastructure, railway operations and profitability. The aim is to restore the efficiency of the railways and ensure the financial viability of DB.

For the stations, this means focusing entirely on ensuring that everyone travelling by train in Germany has a good experience. This is also one of the reasons why DB is currently modernising hundreds of stations and completing 100 stations and transport hubs every year.
