FRACHTbahn Traktion has established a new operational base in Germany. The newly opened facility is located in Duisburg’s Inner Harbor, a central hub within the region.

The primary objective of this expansion is to solidify FRACHTbahn’s presence in Germany and to support further growth within the German market. This move includes building up local resources, particularly in recruiting operational staff, which will improve the company’s ability to maintain flexible and reliable services. The Duisburg office will serve as a foundation for expanding traffic routes and improving the company’s service offerings in Germany.

Germany, with its status as the largest economy in Europe and its access to deep-sea ports, presents a substantial market for rail traction services. The industrial base and integration into pan-European supply chains are seen as key drivers for demand in sustainable and flexible transport solutions. FRACHTbahn aims to use this market environment to broaden its service portfolio for existing customers and to attract new clients through its cross-border transport expertise.

The company has appointed Stephan Richter, an experienced rail industry professional, to lead the establishment and organization of the German operations.
