This is a generational change - former CEO Hans-Jurgen Weidemann is not leaving the company. He has become Chief Technology Officer, having, among other things, opened CargoBeamer's first terminal in Calais, France.
"We want to expand our presence on the important European transport corridors north-south and west-east", explains CargoBeamer's Chairman of the Supervisory Board Robert A. Osterrieth.
The company has also raised tens of millions of euros for further development. It plans to use them to purchase an additional 300 railcars, doubling its capacity. Over the next ten years, CargoBeamer plans to connect its more than 30 terminals with a network of around 50 rail lines.
