This year's Rail Business Days in Trojahala Ostrava will feature the legendary four-axle motor car M 290002 Slovenská strela. It was produced in 1936 by Kopřivnice Tatra for the Czechoslovak State Railways. This train was a technical masterpiece for its time. It was used on the Bratislava-Brno-Prague line and could go from Bratislava to Prague in 4 hours and 18 minutes. In 2021, the carriage was completely rebuilt.
On the first day, an expert debate will take place. Czech Transport Minister Martin Kupka will attend. The conference will discuss topics like how rail vehicles with alternative propulsion work in practice, how railways will be the main mode of transport in the future, and how energy affects rail transport. The last day of the fair will also be for students.
Over the last two years, more than 18,000 people have visited the show. This year, Poland has been chosen as the partner country.
