The contract covers bogie overhauls and main circuit breaker maintenance for the double-deck EMUs used in regional passenger services in Sweden.

VR FleetCare has signed an agreement with Swedish rolling stock owner AB Transitio to carry out heavy maintenance on bogies and main circuit breakers for 60 Stadler Dosto (ER1) electric multiple units between 2026 and 2030, according to VR Group.

Bogie maintenance will be performed at VR FleetCare’s Pieksämäki facility, while work on main circuit breakers will be carried out in Helsinki.

AB Transitio is jointly owned by Sweden’s regional public transport authorities and is responsible for procuring, financing and managing rolling stock on their behalf. The agreement extends VR FleetCare’s maintenance activities beyond Finland and adds Swedish passenger rolling stock to its customer portfolio.

VR FleetCare said the scope includes safety-critical components with a direct impact on vehicle availability and life-cycle costs. The company provides bogie and component maintenance for a range of asset types, including electric and diesel locomotives, electric multiple units, passenger coaches and freight wagons.
