TransANT has expanded its modular freight wagon portfolio with the addition of new flatbed variants. Designed to handle a range of industrial cargo types, the wagons combine multiple layout options for rail operators moving goods such as general cargo, construction materials, vehicles, and long rails.
The new flat wagons are built within the existing TransANT system framework. Based on a lightweight underframe, the design allows for multiple configurations depending on transport needs. Options include wooden, steel, or lattice flooring, and the wagons can be equipped with or without side flaps and stanchions.
The flexibility is intended to support varied cargo profiles, while maintaining structural durability over time. The wagons offer a high payload-to-tare weight ratio and an extended loading area compared to conventional flatbed designs. This makes them applicable for bulky, long, or non-containerized items that are not suited to enclosed or intermodal wagons. The open platform structure enables rapid cargo handling and reconfiguration between trips, depending on load type.
The wagons are designed for regular use in sectors that require reliable wagon availability with minimal turnaround times. They also target cargo flows where mixed freight types are moved within the same train, with varying loading and securing requirements.
TransANT continues to develop its fleet portfolio around a modular principle that allows operators and freight forwarders to match wagon layouts to specific market demands. The flat wagon rollout follows earlier versions optimized for bulk cargo and intermodal containers.
