Ferrotramviaria has presented two new Alstom ETR 104 electric trains at Andria Sud station. The delivery of the two trains is part of a larger order for 11 units financed through a combination of resources, including €57 million from the Puglia Region and €11 million from Ferrotramviaria. This investment aligns with the contractual obligations outlined in the new service agreement signed in December 2021. Delivery of the remaining trains is expected to continue until 2026.
With the addition of these trains, the average age of Ferrotramviaria's fleet has been reduced to 10.35 years, with further reductions anticipated as more units enter service.
The Coradia Stream trains are built with an emphasis on sustainability. The units are 95% recyclable and incorporate features such as energy-efficient motors, advanced air conditioning systems, and optimized thermal insulation to reduce environmental impact.
Five units have already been delivered in June 2023, with the remaining four scheduled for delivery by 2026. These additions will further lower the fleet’s average age to approximately seven years, modernizing Ferrotramviaria's regional rolling stock.
The introduction of these trains supports the evolving needs of rail transport in the Puglia Region while contributing to improved efficiency and service quality.
