The contract includes an option for four more units.


In Hungary, Győr-Sopron-Ebenfurti Vasút Zrt. (GYSEV), has announced the acquisition of intercity (electric multiple unit trains along with associated services. After Siemens did not submit a final offer, the contract was awarded to Stadler.

The initial order includes nine new IC electric trains designed to accommodate various passenger needs, including a specific number of first (32) and second class (216) seats, spaces for wheelchairs, and flexible bicycle transport options depending on the season.

Additionally, there's an option to order four more trains under the same conditions, which can be executed entirely, or in parts. The contract encompasses comprehensive regulatory approval, technical documentation for operation in Hungary and Austria, as well as training for crew and technical staff. The procurement also covers the provision of spare parts, operational kits, software, and hardware support, including diagnostic tools and on-board passenger information systems, ensuring the trains' operational efficiency and maintenance support for five years post-delivery.
