These ad hoc test runs will primarily serve to introduce the brand to the Polish market and support the recruitment of up to 300 employees for the company’s newly established Polish subsidiary.

Czech private operator RegioJet will start running trial passenger services in Poland on 18 September 2025.

From 14 December 2025, RegioJet plans to begin operating according to a scheduled timetable, though until 31 March 2026 services will still be conducted in extended trial mode. Full commercial operations are scheduled to begin on 1 April 2026.

Planned routes

  • From September 2025: Kraków – Warsaw
  • From December 2025: Warsaw – Poznań, Kraków – Warsaw – Gdynia, Warsaw – Ostrava – Prague, and Warsaw – Ostrava – Vienna

The services will be offered in open access mode, with RegioJet assuming the commercial risk.

Ticketing and sales

Until December 2025, tickets will be available exclusively via the operator’s website and mobile app. From the timetable change in December, physical sales points are planned to open in Kraków, Warsaw, and Poznań.

Recruitment and training

RegioJet aims to employ around 300 staff in Poland by spring 2026, with training ongoing throughout the extended trial period. The company states that its recruitment efforts will target both experienced railway workers and candidates from outside the sector, including retraining initiatives for bus drivers.

RegioJet as a challenger of PKP Intercity

The entry of RegioJet will add a new competitor to Poland’s long-distance passenger market, currently dominated by state-owned PKP Intercity. The operator has already established services in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, and Hungary, and is preparing further expansion into Germany alongside the new Polish operations.
