The project, set for completion by 2028, will enable speeds of up to 320 km/h along the 245-kilometer route, significantly reducing travel time between the two major cities.

Vossloh has been awarded a contract by the Moroccan state railway company ONCF (Office National des Chemins de Fer). It comprises the supply of switches and switch components worth the equivalent of just under €50 million up to 2027 as well as the supply of rail fastening systems worth around €25 million up to 2028. The components will be for use in the construction of the approximately 245-kilometer high-speed rail link between the cities of Casablanca and Marrakech. The line will significantly reduce regular journey times between the two cities, allowing speeds of up to 320 km/h.

Deliveries of rail fasteners will start this year, followed by switches and components in 2025. This will allow the line to be completed in time for the start of the FIFA World Cup in 2030. Morocco is currently undergoing a massive expansion of its high-speed rail network. Currently, only the 200-kilometre section between the cities of Tangier and Kenitra can reach speeds over 300 km/h. By 2040, Morocco's high-speed network is expected to grow to 1,300 km.

"We are delighted that this important customer has once again placed its trust in us. The construction of such demanding high-speed lines requires the highest standards in terms of quality and reliability. With our innovative, high-quality products and our deep and comprehensive understanding of the rail track, we can meet these requirements and have once again established ourselves as the preferred partner," commented Oliver Schuster, CEO of Vossloh AG.
