The first journey saw a stop at Mons station, with the ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by former Belgian Olympic high jump champion, Tia Hellebaut.
With Paris set to host a series of major sporting events, the new Eurocity service is designed to accommodate the increased number of travelers. The SNCB is adding this option to its existing routes, providing an additional choice for tourists and sports enthusiasts.
Daily Services Until Mid-August
The Eurocity trains will operate four times daily between the two capitals from now until August 11. Departures from Brussels-Midi are scheduled for early morning and early afternoon, while return trips from Paris-Nord are set for early afternoon and evening.
Each train will make a stop at Mons, offering a straightforward travel experience between Brussels and Paris. Following this initial period, the service will continue with a modified schedule from August 28 to September 8, coinciding with events dedicated to disabled sports.
Affordable Travel Options
Ticket prices for the Eurocity service start at €34 for second class and €49 for first class, with special rates available for groups of 10 or more. This affordable pricing aims to make the journey to Paris accessible for a wide range of passengers.
The introduction of the Eurocity train service offers a timely travel solution for those planning to visit Paris this summer, ensuring convenient and cost-effective transportation between the Belgian and French capitals.
