This rail service will connect travelers between Hamburg-Altona in the north and Lörrach in Baden-Württemberg over approximately 900 kilometers.

The BTE BahnTouristikExpress is completing its final preparations to launch the seasonal operation of its BTE AutoReiseZug on Thursday, May 16.

The night train service allows passengers to bring their cars or motorcycles on board. Each train will have a capacity to transport up to 200 passengers and around 50 vehicles in up to 7 car train composition.

Passengers can book tickets in sleeper and couchette cars, equipped with washrooms, sanitation facilities, and electrical outlets. The compartments are prepared for nighttime rest, with breakfast served directly to passengers in their compartments in the morning. For those who might need it, snacks and drinks are available for purchase onboard until midnight, and special attentions are given to young travelers upon check-in.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of around 125 BTE employees works to maintain and operate the service, which includes maintenance of the rolling stock through a collaboration with RDC Asset, part of the RDC Group, located in Hamburg. This operational support is essential to ensure that the rail service runs smoothly across the 100 operational days spanning from May to October.
